# World of Hyatt Honeymoon: Park Hyatt Maldives, Andaz Maui & Alila Points Guide

> World of Hyatt is the most points-efficient hotel program in America — and its Category 7 resorts turn a manageable points balance into overwater villas and oceanfront suites. Here are the properties to target and how to earn the points.

Among the major American hotel loyalty programs, World of Hyatt stands nearly alone in still delivering outsized value. Its points return an average of 1.65 to 1.8 cents each, per [The Points Guy](https://thepointsguy.com/loyalty-programs/ultimate-guide-world-of-hyatt/) — materially above Marriott Bonvoy (0.7–0.8 cents) and Hilton Honors (0.5–0.6 cents). For honeymooners, that gap is the difference between a points balance that covers a night and one that covers a week. Applied to a Category 7 luxury resort, Hyatt points routinely return 4 to 6 cents of value, meaning a single well-timed redemption can erase $6,000 of hotel cost from a honeymoon budget.

The catch worth knowing up front: Hyatt overhauled its award chart on May 20, 2026, replacing the old three-tier system (Off-Peak, Standard, Peak) with five tiers — Lowest, Low, Moderate, Upper, and Top. In the same move, 112 properties moved up in category and 24 moved down, and the Category 7 and 8 resorts where most honeymoon dreams live saw the biggest increases: Top-tier Category 7 nights now reach 55,000–60,000 points, up from a former peak of 35,000, per [NerdWallet](https://www.nerdwallet.com/travel/news/book-these-hyatt-properties-before-may-2026-devaluation). The upside is predictability — unlike Marriott's fully dynamic pricing, Hyatt's award costs are capped and published, so you can budget a honeymoon with confidence.
